Carshare Websites in Czech Republic, Germany and Surrounding Destinations

A month ago, I discover Germany carshare websites which hooked up riders and travelers. I paid a mere 15 EUR (each) for my 4 hour-ride trip from Prague to Berlin and back. I had my doubt in the beginning of course; thinking I might end up with a serial rapist or ax-killer or some weirdo like that but my carshare experience was excellent so I will definitely use this website from now on to travel to cities available on the list. These drivers are travelers themselves who want extra
money for their gasoline. The riders are normal travelers or people who study and work in a different cities.http://www.mitfahrgelegenheit.de: I found my ride through this site. The riders’ numbers are listed so giving them a call is a Skype click away. However this site is very hard to navigate if you don’t understand German. There seems to be no option to select departure and arrival destination, but I found a trick. To search for rides from a specific city, use this link [http://www.mitfahrgelegenheit.de/mitfahrzentrale/Praha/liste.html] Replace [Praha] with the city of your choice e.g. Berlin, Munchen, Budapest (make sure the name is the correct German spelling). For rides from one city to another use [http://www.mitfahrgelegenheit.de/mitfahrzentrale/Praha/Berlin/b.html

  • http://www.mfz.de/ : This site is easy to navigate but you can’t see the riders’ phone numbers. You send them a message via the site and have to wait for them to contact you back.
  • www.autospolujizda.cz: You might also try this Czech website but I think it’s way inferior to the German ones.
  • www.jizdaspolu.cz same as above comment.
