Lowcost Airline London-Hongkong Folded

My fare scouting to flight cheap from London to Hongkong is over now that low-cost Oasis Hong Kong airline has announced bankruptcy.

Ironically, I never heard of this airline before I met a Hongkong girl who stayed at the same hostel in Venice during Venice festival this February. She bought a round-trip ticket HK-London for a smoking price of only $550. Now that I plan to fly from Europe to South East Asia, I remember our conversation two months ago and started googling for “Oasis.” There wasn’t any bad news on the home page except for the booking function wasn’t working. I waited for a few days and saw the official statement which confirmed my suspicion.

Oh well, I will try to find alternative low-cost option from Europe to other central hubs: Singapore and Bangkok.

Big Mac and Beer?

Travel blogging has become better and better. I really enjoy reading the new hotelclub’s blog because of their many interesting blog entries. This blog provides useful information about traveling experience instead of strictly promoting hotel deals.

My two favorite posts are “Worst European Food Experience” and “Tove Five Under Hotels.” In the first entry, this poor blogger got him/herself in a German McDonnald where a “German” Big Mac was served with beer. This bizarre combo might not seem strange at all when you substitute the soda-obsessed American with the beer-craving German culture.

The second post shows off never-heard-off underwater hotels. Though knowing too well that buildings and constructions underwater exist,it has never crossed my mind that people actually build hotels in this condition and convince enough people to try out this marine-like experience. This should be a nice change of environment, shouldn’t it?

Accommodation in Australia

Sydney is considered as the No 1 city of Australia, based on its population, its importance in Australia’s politics and economy, as well as all the funs and noises. It boasts beautiful sceneries, the Opera House, Darling Harbour Bridge, the romantic setting of the Darling Harbour itself, plus all the famous beaches like Manly, Bondi. The city of Sydney it self is a heaven on earth for many. To shopping enthusiast, there are many stores around. The price range could be anything depends on where you decide to pop in. You can find last-minute deals for hotel in Sydney for as low as $33*. Most of the year, the city is with pleasant and warm weather. Get around the city is a piece of cake, since the network of train, bus, ferry here is quite marvelous.

Darling Harbour is busy waterfront precinct in the locality of Sydney. It attracts tourists with its large dining, shopping and entertainment areas with exhibition and convention centers. At Darling Harbour, you can dine alfresco at King Street Wharf, Cockle Bay or Harbourside, take a ferry, cruise, sailboat, yacht or speedboat tour, board the monorail for an overview of Darling Harbour and surrounds, explore Sydney Wildlife World with its collection of animals unique to Australia or catch the light rail to the Sydney Fish Markets. Nice things come with a price tag; perhaps that is the reason why hotels in Darling Harbour are a bit pricey compared to Sydney and Melbourne. A 3-star hotel will dent your pocket for about $99*

Melbourne
is the 2nd most important city of Australia. To many, Melbourne is a better place to unwind, because of its peaceful spread-out setting, with fewer people, less noise, bigger streets and fresher air. Get around Melbourne is easy, with its system of train, bus, tram service, which use the same ticket, or one could just take a pleasant walk to get around to all the interesting place: Southgates; Federation Square; Art Gallery; Rialto Towers and Collins-Burke-Elizabeth-Swanton Streets, where many stores and restaurants line up). Melbourne is also famous for its many “international” restaurants, where you can eat the best food for a very reasonable price. Everything seems to be cheaper in Melbourne, from eating out to the price of groceries! However, I found it very interesting that the lowest price I find for a 3-star hotel in Melbourne starts from $41*

Accommodations and hotels can be booked quite easily, provided you have their phone numbers and your own credit card details ready.
